The Elder Scrolls Online MMORPG

The long awaited release is now live; The Elder Scrolls Online MMORPG was released on April 4th, 2014 worldwide on PC and Mac platforms.  The PS4 and Xbox One versions are soon to follow.  The MMORPG brings Tamriel to life in the online world with you as part of its story, struggles, and outcomes.

With a vast and details character creation, you can enter the world as your own unique champion ready to join in the battle or simply explore the vast open world.  The game will be set in the continent of Tamriel and feature a storyline indirectly connected with the other games. The game will be set a millennium before the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and around 800 years before The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, with the Daedric Prince Molag Bal appearing as the main antagonist as he attempts to pull all of Tamriel to his realm of Coldharbour.

Most of the continent of Tamriel will be playable in the game (although much of it will be locked off for expansion content), and players will have the opportunity to join any of the three factions warring over the throne of the Emperor of Tamriel:  The Aldmeri Dominion (represented by an eagle), composed of Altmer (High elf), Bosmer (Wood elf), and Khajiit; the Daggerfall Covenant (represented by a lion), composed of Bretons, Redguards, and Orsimer (Orcs); and the Ebonheart Pact (represented by a dragon), composed of Nords, Dunmer (Dark elf) and Argonians.

As promised by the Game Director Matt Firor "Soon we’ll be unveiling Craglorn, our first Veteran-level, end-game zone tailored for small and large groups which offers lots more hours of gameplay and new areas to explore– and we’ll continue to add new systems and exciting content regularly."

The latest chapter in the cinematic series from the team of Bethesda to celebrate the Launch of ESO is "The Siege.".  What started with "The Alliances" trailer, then "The Arrival" trailer and now "The Siege" trailer, shows the three mighty warriors and their battle rages on. See below to catch up on the cinematic series below:

Shadows of Mordor

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is an upcoming action role-playing video game set in The Lord of the Rings universe, being developed by Monolith Productions.  The game will bridge the gap between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings saga and is scheduled for release on October 7, 2014.

In Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, you are Talion, a ranger with Wraith-like abilities.  In an open world video game and players will have the freedom to pursue side quests and roam around the world.

The game allows players to customize Talion as he starts his journey throughout Mordor by using a new system called the Nemesis System which remembers the player's interactions with specific types of characters they will encounter in the game and adjusts the manner in which these characters will react to the player throughout the game.  Enemies will also develop as Talion interacts with them; for example, an Uruk who survived a previous encounter with Talion can be encountered later working as a slaver.

The player will have the option to level up the abilities of Talion both as a ranger and as a Wraith through two distinct skill trees, Ranger abilities allow Talion to move silently through environments without attracting attention, while Wraith abilities will allow him to impose his will on enemies, and have them gather information for him, spread tales of Talion among enemies to decrease their morale, or assassinate their leaders.

Given the Early gameplay demos, the game is has abilities similar to Batman's Arkham Detective mode and  Assansin's Creed style movement and gamepley.  For those Middle Earth fans and people who enjoy stealth games, this is a game worth checking out.  For more info feel free to check out the site:  https://www.shadowofmordor.com/

Hearthstone is now live

Blizzard's card game, Hearthstone, is now live and available on Battle.net. There are various game modes and a pretty good tutorial to help new players. Prior to each battle the player gets to use a hero from a particular class and they are: Mage (Jaina Proudmoore), Priest (Anduin Wrynn), Warlock (Gul'dan), Paladin (Uther the Lightbringer), Warrior (Garrosh Hellscream), Druid (Malfurion Stormrage), Hunter (Rexxar), Rogue (Valeera Sanguinar), and Shaman (Thrall). Gameplay is turned-based and each player can make as many as possible during each turn. Usually turns are ended due to lack of cards and/or mana. Once a match is finish each player's hero is granted experience, winning gets you more. Once a player reaches level 10 a new level of cards will be available. Hearthstone is available on Microsoft Windows and OS X operating systems, with iPad, iPhone and Android platform releases planned.
