Do I smell a new VR device?

If you are familiar with the South Park series then you know that they are known to push the limits. Aside from there hilarious television series they have gotten into the gaming scene with the popular release South Park: The Stick of Truth. Along with their next release they will be doing something that has never been done before. With the help of Ubisoft, the Nosulus Rift was developed for their new game South Park: The Fractured but Whole.

Now this is likely just a very unique marketing gig but man is it interesting. Basically how it works is like this: you attach the Nosolus Rift to your face and start playing the game. When the story line implements a fart you will smell it through this. Now this is something I probably wouldn't put myself on the pre-order list for (and it likely won't be for sale) but hey, it reeks of innovation.

Ubisoft and South Park are set to showcase this device at Gamescom on August 17, 2016. I'm wondering how many different aromas are programmed into this device and how well does it work? Hopefully they make a reaction reel of everyone who tries out this device so I can experience it without actually smelling Cartman's gas. It's so great that South Park is able to make everything comical even when it comes to high tech devices.

So my question to you guys , would you put this on?

Kerbal Space Program

Kerbal Space Program is a game that I hold near and dear to my heart. If you have not heard of this game, it won the PC Gamer: Best Simulation  Award in 2015. It is also one of the few early access games that actually made it out of its alpha/beta phases (shots fired). In KSP you manage your own space program from top to bottom. You control the funding, the research, rocket building and flight controls. This game may be rough in the beginning but once you finally land on your destination, the feeling is amazing.

It took me about 7-8 hours to land on the mun (Kerbal for moon) for the first time. This process was full of frustration and anger, I must have witnessed 43 explosions and 56 tiny green deaths but when the struts on my little pod successfully touched down on the mun's surface, the euphoria was better than my graduation. If you ever wondered what it would be like to be an astronaut, this is as close as it will get.  This game has an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating by over 32,000 players and the masses don't lie!

In KSP not only will you be able to pilot the spacecraft of your dreams, you will also get a general understand of gravity and planetary orbit. I know we hate to learn when we play games but KSP makes it a lot of fun. In recent light of the No Man's Sky release, which is an open world exploration game, KSP will dig deep into the engineering behind space travel and allow you to experience the trials of launch testing.

The game has a $39.99 price tag (Which is well worth it!) but you can try the game with the free demo now on Steam. If there is something I think every gamer should try at least once, it would be to attempt to land on the mun in this game. Don't worry if you gruesomely explode your first 50 rockets, it's all part of the game!

Here are the recommended specs:

    • OS: Windows 8 or 10 64 bit
    • Processor: Core i5
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GT 610 1GB
    • Hard Drive: 6 GB HD space

*Hint: Do the tutorial!

If you do plan to try this game, come back and tell us how long it took you to get to the mun!
