DOOM Open Beta Live!

The DOOM Open Beta is in full effect! I hope that you all were able to preload the game via the Steam client.  If you haven't then all you have to do is:

  1. Open the Steam client and select the 'Store' button.
  2. In the 'search the store' field type in 'DOOM'.
  3. Select 'DOOM Open Beta' from the search interface.
  4. Scroll down and press the 'Play Game' button.

The open beta dates will be April 15th - 17th.  I was able to download the client and get in a few matches  of Team Deathmatch on both the Heatwave and Infernal maps.

The run and gun, fast paced action of the game is super entertaining and addicting.  Even in the open beta, you can customize your character and your weapon load outs once you reach the right level.  Its awesome that you have the personalization even in the open beta.

Just a few screen shots of a winning match I was in and the loading screen for the Heatwave map.

Check out some Gameplay that I was able to Stream last night via the TeamEVGA Twitch Channel!

Black Desert Online - Mediah Expansion!

Daum Games and Pearl Abyss; the studio and publisher behind Black Desert Online made an announcement last week, introducing the next chapter in the game:  the Mediah Expansion

The initial release of the game was March 3rd in the US and EU markets.  I, along with many other players joined in on the fun and have been playing ever since.  The Mediah Expansion is a completely free update to the game that everyone received in their last patch.  What was changed or update you ask, well here is a list of what was done:

  • World size increased by 30%
  • Over 1,000 new quests
  • Kzarka - An enormous boss that can take on hundreds of players at a time
  • New guild missions, including special bosses that drop formidable weapons
  • Crimson Battlefield - Instanced 40v40 skirmishes that players can queue for in groups of five or solo
  • New weapons and more powerful armor set
  • Craftable Alchemy Stones allow players to apply Attack, Defense, or Life bonuses to their equipment
Equipment can be enchanted to higher levels

Be sure to check out the Mediah Trailer below with some awesome scenes of the game, new city, and new mobs!

Along with the Mediah Expansion, a seasonal event was launched which will run until May 4th, called the Cherry Blossom Event.  Along with the in game event update, an update to the shop was made with some new pets, costumes, and housing items!  You can check out the full patch notes here

I'm interested in finding out who else is playing Black Desert Online, or if you have through about playing it.  Let me know your thoughts down in the comment section below!

Paragon: New Hero - Sevarog

Epic Games is on a roll with their new third person MOBA; Paragon!  Currently it is in the Early Access stages, which you can join in by purchasing a Founder's Pack, which you can read about here!

I've had the chance to play Paragon for about 3 weeks now and I can definitely say that is a fun game and I enjoy it more than a traditional MOBA.  The third person view, plus the amazing Unreal Engine graphics a win win combination for me.

A few days ago, the folks over at Epic Games released a new hero into their line up, called Sevarog.  A tank / jungler cloaked evil spirit looking character who wields a two handed sledge hammer of doom!  He looks really intimidating, especially when your going up against him on the battle field.

The folks behind Paragon, have already assured everyone that All Heroes characters will be free, even the new one that will be released in future patches.  Currently the only restriction is placed on 3 characters, for which your account must reach level 7 in order to unlock them and use them.

Check out the Sevarog overview video below, with the awesome Colossal Blow ultimate move where Sevarog swings his hammer and punts his opponent back a few feet and causing some serious damage!

Paragon is scheduled to release Summer 2016, but if you can get you hands on an Beta code or purchase a Founder's Pack, I would definitely encourage you to do so and check out the game.  You will not be disappointed.  Let us know what you think in the comment section below!

ADR1FT, a space survival VR experience

ADR1FT is one game that seems to be flying under the radar, as not much hype has been made.  The game comes from developer stuido threeonezero and publisher 505 Games.  This will be threeonezeor's first major game title which will be released as an exclusive Oculus and PC title via Steam.  The game is also set to release on Xbox One and PS4 shortly after.

So, what is ADR1FT you ask?  Its being marketed as "immersive First Person Experience (FPX)" which follow the story of an astronaut in danger out in space.  As the only survivor of a major wreckage, you must fight your way through dangerous obstacles, repairs, and your EVA suit which is leaking oxygen, all to try and regain your memory and find out the cause of the wreckage.

The concept is very interesting and as a normal PC game it would be cool.  But add in the Oculus Rift headset and it takes it to a whole new level, actually putting you in the game itself and in space.  No sky, no ground to stand on, only the deep dark reaches of space!

ADR1FT is set to release on March 28th, 2016, only 4 days away! The official system requirements have also been released, which are:

  • OS: Windows 64 bit
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83 GHz / AMD
  • Phenom 9850 @ 2.5 GHz
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GPU: NVIDIA GTX 650 2GB or AMD HD7770 2GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 6000 MB available space

  • OS: Windows 10 64 bit
  • Processor: Intel i5 4570 @ 3.2 GHz / AMD Phenom II 945 @
  • 3.0 GHz
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD R9 290 equivalent or greater
  • DirectX: Version 11
    Storage: 6000 MB available space

Watching the trailer gives you just a bit of insight on what the game is like, the premise is interesting and we will have to wait to see how the actual gameplay is like.  Especially with those using the Oculus Rift.  Let us know your thoughts on ADR1FT and if you are thinking of purchasing it next week?
