Let's take a step back to the late 80's early 90's when books were still popular with the kids those days. The Choose your own Adventure series as published by Bantam Books was a very popular type as it gave the reader option to essentially run the story off the specific queues and prompts it presented during your reading.
I remember really enjoying these types of books because it would be like the story never ended, unless you found all the possible combinations of the story, even then it was more than a pick up the book and read it once story.
Well a YouTuber channel by the name of Many A True Nerd has taken this Choose your own Adventure concept and applied it to YouTube in a video series where you choose your own Apocalypse in the Fallout New Vegas game. A very neat idea and I am not sure why someone didn't think of it sooner. I actually enjoyed the updated take on the concept and I wanted to share it with everyone who may have enjoyed the books back in the day or who really enjoyed playing Fallout New Vegas. Check out the video below and enjoy!!
Let us know if you were successful in your first round or if it took you more than one try to complete the video mission, down in the comment section below!
The Mirrors Edge Catalyst Closed Beta started on April 22nd to those selected who signed up to participate. Among those, I was fortunate to be selected for the Closed Beta, and I can honestly say that Catalyst is just as fun or even more so than the original game was.
Graphics set to High/Ultra settings makes the game look surreal. I only wish that I had a VR headset to go along with the game to make it just that much more realistic. I bet anyone who is able to run a VR headset with the game will be impressed and scared out of their minds (if your afraid of heights).
EA also announced the PC specifications to run Catalyst, of which they recommended the following:
- OS: Windows 7 64-Bit (use the latest Service Pack)
- CPU: Intel i3-3250 / AMD FX-6350. (Note: Mirror's Edge Catalyst requires at least 4 logical cores to run.)
- RAM: 6 GB
- Hard Drive: At least 25 GB of free space
- Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB or better / AMD Radeon R9 270x or better
- Input: Keyboard and mouse, dual analog controller
- OS: Windows 10 64-Bit (use the latest Service Pack)
- CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 at 3.4 GHz / AMD FX-8350 at 4.0 GHz
- RAM: 16 GB
- Hard drive: At least 25 GB of free space
- Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB or better / AMD Radeon R9 280x 3GB or better
- Input: Keyboard and mouse, dual analog controller
Originally the release date for Mirror's Edge Catalyst was late in May 2016. An announcement by EA
the the ME team a few days ago updated everyone with a delayed release date of June 7th (NA) and June 9th (EU). Erik Odeladahi, Design Director, stated "That is why we will give ourselves a bit more time to perfect the game...
With many games these days feeling like they were rushed and released too early, I do appreciate EA taking the time to make sure their game is a bit more polished and ready for the fans to enjoy without any issues. Event though this cannot always be guaranteed. What do you guys think about Mirror's Edge Catalyst? Will you be picking up a copy? What are your thought on the delay?
