Cool, but sad thing is - image quality is poor.

I watched it on my Android phone as I don't have Chrome on my PC.
It's pretty interesting. Higher quality would be great for other devices such as the PC, but on small resolution like a smartphone, it's plenty.

After watching other similar 360 videos on youTube, this is the most interesting one I've seen.

I've heard about this technology to be implemented in movies. If done right, it can become a quite immerse experience. I'm impressed that it's available today and not in a few years down the road.

    Nice find!

I didn't even realize that you covered this How-to topic about the Youtube 360 features back in March on this post:

For a little more info from Google YouTube:

On the topic of applying this to the big screen Cinema, I can't see it happening due high cost. Same reason why they use Passive Stereoscopic 3D and not Active. The polarized glasses are about $1 compared to $20-$300 for active. Weight, cleaning, and recycling is another factor.

However, I can certainly see this as an additional replay factor in a home theatre where the film would be available on Blu-Ray such as it is available for 3D content.
